Muhlaysia Booker, a 23-year-old black transgender woman, was attacked by a mob in April 2019. She spoke out against this violence saying, “This time, I can stand before you … whereas in other scenarios, we are at a memorial.”
On May 18th, 2019 she was fatally shot. Her father said, “I’m already seeing when they hit my kid with bricks and then to find out my kid got killed with a bullet?”
She loved all of who she was. She was a beautiful spirt taken from us too soon.
